So back when i was working on my match to live project i found this tutorial. This tutorial was created by Fredrik Averpil and here is a link to his site:

It's been awhile since my last update but i have been extremely busy. You can go to studio1.cz8s.com to see another project that i am working on. As for this post, I have just finished working on my 3rd project for Digital Lighting and Rendering. Simultaneously I am posting my 2nd project.
Project 2 called match to live was an exercise in which we where instructed to photograph an object then model, texture, and light a duplicate and place it next to the "real object." I seem to think mine was pretty successful and I got a lot of positive feedback. See if you can tell which one is fake and which is real? But don't cheat because the answer is also included in the video.
Project 3 was a tough one for me because I did not have an already constructed environment to work with. So, I had to start from scratch. The point of this assignment was to find an image, any image, and draw your lighting inspiration for this image. I choose one of my favorite images that I shot with beginners luck a few years ago. Because i had to start from scratch I had a lot less time to work on lighting then I would have liked but overall I am extremely satisfied with my lighting setup. I think the biggest drawback is that because of time constraints my render settings had to be lower then I would have liked. This is visible with the aliasing and flickering from not enough final gather rays. I think I will for sure re submit this one.
Finally we get to a little project I have been working on, on the side. HDR time lapse using final gather I was able to render the lighting changes in a 60 frame HDR sequence. The results speak for themselves, though in the movie below I rendered the sequence 3 times with minor tweaks. I hope to explore this further and with greater success!
